#645 - Bell's Vireo
Bell's Vireo is a very common breeding species in SE & central Arizona and is  not a difficult bird to find when singing from March to September. However, they can often be frustratingly elusive to lay eyes on. With luck, you'll have the fun experience of chasing a sadistic bird singing its querulous "Where did the little shit go, what did the little shit do?" song. Actually, that's what you will be saying. It's not often that they sit still like this cooperative individual photographed on the San Pedro Riparian NCA near Sierra Vista, AZ on April 15, 2006.

#646 - Black-capped Vireo
In the states, this most handsome of vireos is now almost entirely restricted to Texas as a breeding species with a few birds remaining in Oklahoma. Although fairly common, vocal and easy to find in the Hill Country of Texas, they can be extremely difficult to see well at times (it's a vireo thing). This individual got sloppy for a moment and was immortalized at Kerr Wildlife Management Area, Kerr County, Texas on April 18, 2009. What a beautiful bird.
