#651 - Lark Sparrow
Lark Sparrow, arguably one of the most handsome and distinctive sparrows, is an Arizona resident; widespread as a breeder throughout much of northern Arizona and a locally common breeder in southeast Arizona where it is most often found in mesquite and yucca grassland. This individual was photographed in lower Garden Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains, AZ on July 17, 2008

#652 - Cassin's Sparrow
The rather nondescript Cassin's Sparrow makes up for its lack of looks with a melodic song and skylarking behavior. Although resident in southeast Arizona, this grassland dweller is usually hard to find except when singing during the July-September breeding season. This individual was photographed in lower Garden Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains, AZ on July 17, 2008
