Chiricahua Mountains, AZ -Selected Accommodations

Food and lodging (no gas) in the mountains are quite limited and most places fill up quickly during peak birding in late April, May, July and August. Book early for these months! Portal Peak Lodge is the only place that has motel style rooms and also has the only restaurant open to the general public. All the rest are either cabins, cottages, bed & breakfast or dormitory style places. Some are shown on the overview map. Out of the mountains, nearby Rodeo (10 miles from Portal) has gas and limited food, and the truck stop just off I-10 in Road Forks, NM (40 miles from Portal) has food and a motel (CURRENTLY NO GAS). Even further away, Lordsburg, NM and Willcox, AZ have all services.
