Nogales, AZ -- Overview Map and Directions

FROM TUCSON
Take I-19 (which starts at I-10 exit 260) and go south approximately 60 miles to
Exit 12, 8, 4 or the border exit, depending on your destination (see city map). Note that on Interstate19, distances
and exit numbers are signed in metric, i.e. kilometers, not miles.
Use Exit 12 (Ruby Rd.) for California Gulch or Nogales Sewage Ponds (currently closed to birders).
Use Exit 8 (Grand Ave.) or Exit 4 (Mariposa Rd.) for motels located to the north, and for Highway 82 to Patagonia.
Use Exit 4 or the border exit for motels located south.
FROM PATAGONIA
Head southwest on Highway 82 about 18 miles to the light at the intersection with
Grand Avenue. Whether you turn right (south, towards the border) or left (north, towards
Tucson) will depend on your destination. Refer to the city
map for motel locations.
NOGALES CITY BYPASS
If you're traveling from Patagonia or Kino Springs and want to go to Nogales
Sewage Ponds or head north on I-19 towards Tucson (or vice versa), you can save a few
miles and some time by bypassing Nogales completely. From Highway 82 a few hundred yards
east of the Kino Springs entrance, turn north on South River Road. After crossing the
Santa Cruz River, bear right through a residential area then continue on the river road
for about 4.8 miles;
turn right on Via Frontera and then left (west) after a block on to Ruby Road. Continue
for about 2 miles to the intersection with I-19 at Exit 12. If you're headed to Arivaca,
California Gulch or Sycamore Canyon, continue west on the Ruby Rd. Alternatively, for
Nogales Sewage Ponds, turn right on Frontage Rd immediately before reaching I-19.
